CADIZ — Police arrested two people on Thursday for allegedly starting forest fires near Cadiz.
Five fires have been raging since Sunday near Chiclana de la Frontera.
Firefighters have still not been able to bring them under control.
The two people who were detained are currently being questioned.
Police had become suspicious about how the fires had started because it appeared some form of accelerant had been used.
Almost all the fire fighting teams in the area are trying to put out the blazes.
A college in one area has been evacuated and a number of homes have also been cleared as a precautionary measure.
Many summer forest fires are intentionally started in Spain by arsonists.
