MALAGA — Two lawyers were arrested on Tuesday in connection with the multi-million euro money laundering civil corruption case in Marbella.
Both lawyers were arrested in Marbella, but no more details were released.
More than 70 people have been arrested since the police operation, codenamed operation Malaya, was launched last March into large-scale corruption inside Marbella city council.
The mayor, the head of urban planning and the head of the local police were among those detained for the graft scandal which led to central government dissolving the council.
Former mayor Marisol Yagüe, the head of urban planning Juan Antonio Roca, the former mayor of Marbella, Julián Muñoz, the lawyer Manuel Juan Sánchez Zubizarreta and the businessman José Miguel Villarroya were among those arrested for allegedly accepting bribes from property developers in return for permission to build large scale developments.
