13 September 2007, MADRID - (AFP) - Two Spanish soldiers serving serving NATO forces in Afghanistan were badly injured on Thursday when their vehicle overturned, the Spanish interior ministry said.

MADRID - (AFP) - Two Spanish soldiers serving serving NATO forces in Afghanistan were badly injured on Thursday when their vehicle overturned, the Spanish interior ministry said.

Three other soldiers serving with the 700-strong Spanish contingent were slightly hurt in the accident. All five were taken to hospital in the western city of Herat, where the contingent have their base, the ministry added.

Spain's troops are serving with the 37,000-strong NATO-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) in Afghanistan, supporting the government of the strife-torn country.
