Three killed as small French plane crashes in Spain
A light aircraft with French licence plates crashed in northeastern Spain on Tuesday, killing all three people on board, the local government said.
The plane slammed into a mountainside in the Baztan Valley region of the province of Navarra, the regional government said in a statement.
A hunter found parts of the plane's wheels and fusilage in the valley located between Pamplona and San Sebastian and alerted emergency services, it added.
All three people who were killed in the accident are believed to be French nationals, a spokeswoman for the French embassy in Madrid said.
The private plane took off from the French port of Marseille and was heading for San Sebastian where it was going to make a stop before continuing to Salamanca in western Spain, local media reported.
Police are investigating the cause of the accident.
