MADRID — Four of the 14 suspected terrorists arrested in London had been under surveillance in Spain, police revealed on Monday.
British police arrested 14 people last Friday who are allegedly involved in indoctrinating people to become terrorists.
Four of those who were detained in the British capital were in Spain in April, said police sources.
Police in Spain and Britain have been in contact after the arrests.
The four who were put under surveillance in London were aged between 21 and 49.
They arrived in Spain from France and then went two days later by ferry to Morocco.
Shortly afterwards, they returned to Spain, before heading to France.
Three of those who were arrested last week, were under surveillance last year when authorities believed they were setting up a similar centre to recruit terrorists in Granada.
They are a 49-year-old from Tanzania, a Briton, 40, and a 29-year-old Somalian.
