MADRID — The Rolling Stones' tour of Spain has been delayed until at least next month while guitarist Keith Richards recovers from surgery.

The band had been due to play in Barcelona and Madrid on 27 and 29 May respectively.

But the Stones guitarist had to undergo surgery in New Zealand to remove a blood clot which developed after he fell out of a palm tree while on holiday in Fiji with Ron Wood.

The band was also due to play in Valladolid on 14 August and El Ejido two days later.

New dates have yet to be confirmed but the promoter Gamerco said the first dates are likely to be rescheduled for the end of June.
