Spanish short film wins NexT award in Bucharest
Spanish short film "La Huida/The Runway" directed by Victor Carrey was awarded late Saturday the top prize at the international short film festival NexT in Bucharest.
The jury praised the 2010 production for its "humour, poetry and grace" and considered it a "true moment of happiness", jury member Christian Guinot told the audience in the Romanian capital.
Australian filmmaker Ariel Kleiman was awarded the Cristian Nemescu prize for best director for his film "Deeper than Yesterday".
The Andrei Toncu prize for best soundtrack went to Ina Nikolow and Benedikt David for the "Talleres Clandestinos", an Austrian-Argentinian co-production.
"Silent River" by Anca Miruna Lazarescu received the prize for the best Romananian short film.
This edition of the annual festival had 26 films in competition from 19 countries. It closes late Sunday with movies presented by the European Film Academy in the "Short Matters!" section.
