Spanish king to leave hospital Tuesday: statement
Spain's King Juan Carlos I will leave a Barcelona hospital Tuesday following surgery to remove a benign growth from his lung, the hospital said.
It said in a statement the king had responded "very favourably" following Saturday's surgery and would leave the hospital later Tuesday "to continue his post-surgery convalescence and to progressively recover normal activity in the weeks ahead."
The 72-year-old monarch underwent surgery to remove a growth from his right lung. Doctors later confirmed that the growth was benign.
The growth was detected on April 28 and doctors had decided it was necessary to "extract and study" it, a palace statement had said on Saturday.
