Spanish hairdresser held over toilet video recorder
Spanish police arrested a hairdresser after finding a video camera in the toilet of his salon that he allegedly used to secretly film his female customers, judicial sources said Friday.
They said the man allegedly transferred the images onto his home computer, adding his own comments in a voiceover, although the videos were not uploaded onto the Internet.
Police raided the salon, in the southern city of Seville, after a customer discovered the device last September hidden among some jars.
The newspaper Diario de Sevilla said the man may have been using the camera for months, and said customers filmed included young girls and elderly women.
It said he claimed that he installed the camera to stop thefts in his salon.
Sixteen of the women allegedly filmed are being legally represented by the Association for Women Victims of Sexual Violence.
Its president, Pilar Sepulveda, said the women had been "very upset" by what happened, especially as many had been customers at the salon for years, the newspaper reported.
