MADRID — Police investigating the Madrid terrorist attacks arrested a Spaniard Monday.
Abderrahmeb Hammadi Afandi, 32, who is of Moroccan origin, was arrested in the Madrid suburb of Leganes.
Hammadi was detained on the orders of the judge leading the investigation, Juan del Olmo.
He is expected to appear later Monday in front of the judge.
Seven Islamic terrorist suspects blew themselves up in a flat in Leganes on 3 April while they were surrounded by police.
A police officer from an elite unit also died in the explosion.
The attacks on 11 March killed 192 people and left more than 1,500 people injured.
