Spain's oldest mayor dies while launching elderly people's home.

AVILA - Spain's oldest mayor died Wednesday at the age of 92 years when laying the foundation stone for a home for the elderly, media reported.

Those present tried in vain to give first aid to Gregorio Garcia Antonio after he had a heart attack in front of 100 people.

The Socialist had governed the village of Sinlabajos near the central city of Avila for 29 years.
