The first of a group of political prisoners ordered released by the Communist rulers in Cuba will arrive in Madrid on Tuesday on a commercial flight, the Spanish foreign ministry said Monday.

"We don't know exactly how many" of the first group of 17, released over the weekend, and who are planning to go to Spain will be on the flight which is scheduled to depart from Havana on Monday, a ministry official told AFP.
