MADRID — The Spanish government has offered to go further in relieving debtor nations of their repayment obligations provided they invested the money saved into education.
Leire Pajin, secretary of state for international cooperation, said: "With regard to foreign debt, Spain wants to go further than its obligations under international agreements."
Pajin made the pledge at a meeting of the Organization of Ibero-American States.
