Spain in EUR 550m military contract with Brazil

MADRID-The Spanish unit of the European Aeronautic Defence and Space Company, said it was in talks with Brazil for a military contract worth about EUR 550 million.

The contract EADS CASA is negotiating is for 12 C-295 military transport planes and the modernization of eight P-3 Orion patrol planes, a company spokesman said.

The spokesman confirmed a report in the Spanish business newspaper Cinco Dias, which had cited unnamed sources close to the company.

The newspaper noted that it would be the biggest contract to date for EADS CASA in Latin America.
