MOTRIL / ALGECIRAS - Only two of the 23 Nigerians who were rescued by authorities on Monday after their boat capsized off the coast of Motril in Andalusia will not be deported.

Fourteen of the Africans who had attempted to enter Spain illegally had perished at sea.

One of the migrants, who lost his three-year-old child, wife and brother, is staying with the Red Cross in Granada.

Twenty-one of the migrants were sent Wednesday to a centre in Algeciras, where they will await deportation orders.

Popular Party Motril mayor, Carlos Rojas on Tuesday declared a day of mourning for the Nigerians who died at sea.
