MADRID - National soccer coach Luis Aragonés tonight has a final chance to examine his players before making a final selection ahead of the European Championship in June. Current world champion Italy is the chosen rival to line up against Spain in the Valencia region town of Elche (10pm, TVE1).

The value of such friendly games for seasoned players in the midst of the busy closing stages of the club season is at best dubious, and Liverpool's Fernando Torres may well sit out proceedings owing to knocks picked up when playing Manchester United last weekend. Torres' Liverpool team mate, however, Álvaro Arbeloa, and Getafe midfielder Rubén de la Red, both hope to make their international debuts and sneak into Aragonés' squad for the summer.
