MADRID - UEFA Cup holders Sevilla announced Sunday night that goalkeeper Andres Palop would be out of action for around three months.
Palop, the penalty-saving hero in May's UEFA Cup final, broke the fifth finger on his right hand late in Sunday's 3-1 home win over lowly Murcia.
He will miss Tuesday's Champions League match at Slavia Prague.
Sevilla are atop Group H with 12 points, two points above Arsenal, and have already qualified for the second round. Victory in Prague will guarantee them top spot in the group.
Palop will be replaced by Italian keeper Morgan De Sanctis, who has hardly played since joining Sevilla from Udinese in July.
