MADRID-A new educational law which the Socialist government is to introduce is to force teenagers to repeat a year if they fail more than three subjects.

The Organic Education Law (LOE) will also introduce additional foreign language and information technology classes for students after the age of five.

It introduces the possibility students will have to repeat courses if they fail more than three subjects or more.

The new law also eliminates the general test for a scholarship.

Students  can chose if they want to do the course in Catholic religion, which will be on offer at all schools.

The course will contain an examination, but the result will not count to whether the student passes the course, obtains a scholarship, or goes to university.
