MADRID — At least 25 people were injured on Wednesday in a multiple pile-up involving three buses in Madrid.

Authorities said there were no serious injuries.

The crash happened on the A-1 road from Burgos into Madrid just at the end of the rush hour after 9am.

Three buses, which were carrying 104 passengers, were involved in the collision.

The pile-up happened because the buses were driving behind each other and the first braked suddenly.

Other traffic in the area was not severely disrupted with most cars and buses being diverted on to other routes.
