MADRID - For the third edition of the summer music festival, Bilbao BBK Live!, organisers promise an even more varied bill than last year's event, with The Police, REM, Lenny Kravitz, The Gift, and Chris Cornell already on board, among others.

Running 4-6 July, Bilbao's Kobetamendi Mountain will host for the third consecutive year this popular festival that has seen growing attendance figures since its inception in 2006. At Sunday's presentation ceremony, event director Alfonso Santiago said he will announce the complete line-up "in two weeks, at the most."

In its first year, Bilbao BBK Live! saw more than 45,000 people pass through its doors, which grew last year to 95,000. For its third edition, the organisers are opting for a "European model" event where internationally acclaimed artists of different musical styles play on the same bill.

In a country that hosts a good deal of "homogenous festivals," the Bilbao festival will not be closed off to any genre, Santiago said. The promoter added, "last year Metallica was here. Next year, maybe we'll add some electronic music. Anything's possible."

Currently on sale, the complete event pass costs EUR 165, while a one-day ticket costs EUR 72.
