Spain is the main route for two thirds of drugs into Europe. Most is sent on from Spain to countries in northern Europe.
Cocaine has recenly become the most popular drug in Spain, partly because of its cheapness and easy availability because of ready supplies from South America.
Indeed, Spaniards were the world's biggest users of cocaine according to a recent survey.
