BARCELONA — Dozens of passengers were stuck in the dark after a train stopped suddenly in a tunnel.
Some passengers forced open a door and walked 300 metres in the pitch dark until they got to Sants station in Barcelona.
No-one was injured.
The train was trapped in a tunnel while it was travelling between Cercanias to Mataro through Barcelona city centre.
According to reports on local television, passengers were not told anything by the train authorities Renfe at any time.
The hold-up led to other delays on five different lines, 1, 2, 3, 4 and 7 for over two hours.
After 3pm, services began to get back to normal.
