FUENGIROLA - The parents of a businessman found shot dead in a popular tourist resort in southern Spain pledged Thursday they will pursue the gunman who murdered their son.

Hicham Mandari, a Morrocan businessman, was found with a single bullet in his head on 4 August in Mijas, near Fuengirola in Andalusia.

Police have discounted suicide and are treating the death as murder.

Madari had been recently been accused in France of trafficking forged cash from Bahrain in the Middle East.

His shattered mother, Sherezade El-Fechtali, and father, Mohamed Ben Alal, said Thursday they had "no idea" who carried out the killing.

They pledged to find the person who murdered their son.

The body of Mandari will be sent back to his own country for burial after an autopsy.

The family lawyer, Alexandra Brandi, said police had been unable to confirm the identity of the murder victim until seven days after his body was discovered.

No-one has been arrested in connection with the shooting.

Mijas is a quiet coastal resort popular with tourists and expats, many of whom buy properties there.
