SEVILLE — An investigation was underway on Tuesday after a boy died after being cared for by a nanny.
The nine-year-old was left with the nanny while the parents went away for the weekend.
They received a call from the nanny to say she would have to return to Bolivia because her mother had died.
But when the parents returned they found the dead child alone.
The child had earlier suffered a brain paralysis, was unable to move and needed constant care.
Police later arrested the nanny when she returned to the house.
She was later accused of failing to save the child.
But police also think the parents may bare some responsibility for the boy's death.
The cause of the child's death has not been established but it was clear he had not been beaten.
A post-mortem has failed to reach any conclusion.
