The stalker who travelled to Spain to see actress Sara Casasnovas fired an arrow from a crossbow as she left a theatre.

Madrid – An obsessed German fan fired an arrow from a crossbow at a Spanish actress outside a theatre in Madrid, but missed his target and she was unhurt, police said.

The attack occurred on Sunday night when the actress, Sara Casasnovas, was leaving the theatre after performing in Tennessee Williams’ Night of the Iguana.

The 39-year-old German, identified as Arndt M, fired a crossbow in her direction. The arrow missed and landed in the jacket of another actor from the play, who was unhurt.

The man was then wrestled to the ground by several men.

Police said the man was carrying a backpack that contained a second crossbow, arrows, a cutter, handcuffs, teargas and a can of petrol.

They said he had sent several love letters to the 25-year-old Casasnovas and had come to Spain to see her.
