Costa del Sol on weather alert with dropping temperatures and more rain
Much of the province remains on yellow alert today with rain expected until midnight on the Costa del Sol and plummeting Spanish temperatures
IT was a wet weekend, and it’s set to be a damp start to the week ahead with at least one death on Spain’s dangerous roads.
In Alcaidesa there are unconfirmed reports of a road accident fatality due to the saturated driving conditions over the weekend.
Six Andalucian provinces are on yellow alert for hazardous weather (Malaga, Cadiz, Cordoba, Huelva, Sevilla and Ceuta).
A total of 40 litres of rain per cubic metre are predicted to fall over the space of just 12 hours.
Spanish meteorological agency Aemet predicts rain will continue through the day, until midnight on the Costa del Sol and until 6pm in the Ronda and Antequera regions.
Temperatures are plummeting in Cantabria in northern Spain, in the southeast and in the Canary Islands.
Night-time temperatures are also dropping slightly across the whole peninsula with cloudy skies and rain.
