MADRID - One in four people in Spain suffers from noise pollution, a new survey says.
From buzzing mopeds to loud music from bars and even noisy chatter, Spain has a bad record for dealing with noise.
Major cities around Spain, including Madrid and Barcelona, have attempted to do something about the problem.
In Barcelona, a major campaign costing EUR 9m was launched last month to clean-up the city and reduce noise levels which were thought to be putting off tourists as well as angering local people in some of the most popular areas.
The survey was carried out by a campaign group which aims to reduce noise levels in Spain.
But few believe city councils can do anything to curb the level of noise pollution in daily life.
