MADRID — Nearly a third of people in Spain suffer from noise pollution from their neighbours, a study revealed on Tuesday.
The National Statistics Institute said 29 percent of people suffered from the racket caused by noisy neighbours.
In a survey on quality of life, 19 percent said there were affected by some form of vandalism and yobbishness, the report said.
Madrid and Valencia were the worst areas in the country for noise, contamination and yobbish behaviour.
Castilla La Mancha and Cantabria suffered the least from these problems.
Meanwhile, the survey, of living standards in 2005, found men were paid 15 percent more than women per hour.
Men’s monthly salaries were 37 percent more than women on average.
