SPAIN - Bilbao's emblematic Guggenheim Museum is taking its former financial director to court after he admitted to pilfering almost EUR 500,000 over the last eight years.
Roberto Cearsolo Barrenechea was dismissed last week after confessing to stealing money from two museum funds. He also admitted to forging the Guggenheim's 2005 annual accounts in an effort to cover his tracks. He has agreed to return the money.
