GRANADA — A murder hunt has been launched after a young woman was strangled and her body dumped in a lake.
Beatriz Collado Ramírez, 27, rang her boyfriend to say there were two suspicious men nearby.
The last words he heard were those of a mystery man saying: "Hang up the phone."
The boyfriend called her family who alerted the police.
Two hours later, her body was found floating in a lake.
Civil Guard officers said it appeared Beatriz had been forced to hang up the phone.
There were no signs of violent attack on her body.
But there were a few marks on her neck, showing she might have been asphyxiated.
Her friend Maria Luisa, with whom Beatriz had been jogging, had gone to talk to her boyfriend in a car nearby when they heard screams.
Beatriz had lived in Maracena, a village near Granada.
She was described by friends and workmates as "sporting, intelligent and tough".
She had planned to marry her boyfriend.
Police have launched a murder hunt for her killer, but said she did not appear to have had any enemies.
