VALENCIA-An elderly mother and her daughter were found murdered in their home.
The bodies of the mother, 74, and her daughter, 48, showed signs they had been the victims of a violent attack, police sources said.
It is thought they had been the victims of a 'crime of passion'. No-one has been arrested.
The attack is thought to have taken place last night and police were called by a friend of the family after they had failed to contact them.
Police arrived at the family home to find the bodies of the two women.
Police would only say one of the women had signs she had been attacked with a blunt instrument. But they refused to disclose which woman had been attacked in this way or how the other woman had died.
Both women were Argentine and had lived in Valencia, in eastern Spain, for about a year.
The daughter ran her own company from home, designing web pages.
The door of the house had not been forced, police said. But they did not rule-out the killer may have got in through another entrance.
A neighbour said the two women had not been seen outside their home for the past week but they had been heard listening to the radio and watching television.
