PAMPLONA-A man shot his partner dead then turned the gun on himself, police said.
The body of the 22-year-old woman was found in a car in Pamplona in the Basque Country early on Tuesday.
Her body was slumped over the steering wheel of her Peugeot 206.
She had been shot a number of times with a shotgun.
The boyfriend was found dead in the street nearby.
He had fired two shots, killing himself instantly.
Police have not revealed the identities of either person.
And there were no clues as to why the tragedy had happened.
The woman's death makes her the latest victim of domestic violence in Spain.
The tragedy comes just over a week after a new law came into action clamping down on domestic violence, bringing tougher penalties for men who attack women and better resources to help victims.
The Socialist government of Spanish premier Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero has made tackling domestic violence one of his priorities.
