BARCELONA -- Police have arrested two Romanian brothers in Tarragona accused of trying to sell the infant daughters of one of them for EUR 30,000.

The suspects were taken into custody on Tuesday night when the girls' mother sought help after being assaulted by her husband following a fight over his plans to sell the four- and two-year-old children.

A Gypsy woman who helped the men look for buyers has also been arrested, while the two children have been taken into the care of social services.

Local residents said the couple and their children had been living rough on the streets for months.

I'm shocked tht a Romanian person would do a thing like that, and I think it is terrible that people are prejudiced against Gypsies.
