MADRID – Spain has the second most expensive homes in Europe, a study claims.
After London, Madrid is the city with the most expensive real estate.
A study by three different property agencies in Britain, Germany and Spain found a luxury house in Chelsea, London costs EUR 8.1m with seven bedrooms, a garden and a swimming pool.
However, a similar property in Madrid costs EUR 5.4m. The home with 600 sqm space and five bedroom is in the centre in the area called Chamberi.
A large terrace and garage space explain the hefty price tag.
The report was based on the sale of homes in Barcelona, Madrid, Valencia, London, Liverpool, Manchester, Munich, Hamburg and Berlin.
In Spain, Barcelona and Valencia have the most costly homes after Madrid.
In Barcelona, the most sought-after house was 640sqm with three lifts, eight bedrooms and a price tag of EUR 3.9m.
In Valencia, a home was on the market for 3.1m in the Ciutat Vella area of the city.
