MADRID — Spain's rate of inflation rose to 3.9 percent in March compared with the same period last year.

The inflation rate continued to slow down due, mainly, to lower energy price rises in comparison with previous months.

In its monthly report, the Spanish National Statistics Institute said consumer prices rose to 3.9 percent in March compared with 4 percent in February and 4.2 percent in January.
