SEGOVIA — The biggest literature festival in the world came to the classical Spanish city of Segovia.
Ian McEwan, Martín Amis and Doris Lessing were some of the star writers at the Hay in Segovia Festival, which transferred from Hay-on-Wye in Wales where it is usually held every year.
Dozens of writers and artists from across the world are to take part during the weekend.
Bob Geldof, the singer turned aid campaigner, sang as the festival got underway on Friday.
Carmen Calvo, Spanish culture minister, said: "It is great that the Anglo-Saxon world has come to Spain and we should enjoy it."
