22 June 2007, MADRID – A light aircraft was forced to make an emergency landing near Madrid on Friday but the two passengers were uninjured.

MADRID – A light aircraft was forced to make an emergency landing near Madrid on Friday but the two passengers were uninjured.

Authorities said the plane had to land between the M-40 motorway and the R-5 road in the Leganes area.

The emergency landing happened at 10am in the Las Mimbreras suburb near the Cuatro Vientos aerodrome.

It appeared the plane had experienced some mechanical problems.

One person  was unharmed, the other passenger suffered minor injuries.

An investigation has been launched.
