MADRID - After holing out in two on the par-five 13th hole at the US Masters at Augusta, Spanish veteran golfer Miguel Angel Jimenez was able to finish the tournament in eighth place at 287, ahead of  Sergio Garcia and double event winner José Maria Olazabal, both fellow Spaniards who failed to make the two-day cut.

After closing day one of the tournament at a discouraging five over par, the cigar-chomping Jimenez finished his last card at 68, his best performance of the four days.

In his 10th career Masters, Jimenez’s eighth-place finish at seven strokes behind event winner Trevor Immelman was his best ever in the Tournament.
