LANZAROTE - A holidaymaker from south Dublin has died while on holiday on the Spanish island of Lanzarote.

It followed an incident in Puerto del Carmen on Wednesday in which the 18-year-old sustained injuries during a fight.

The BBC reported it is understood that he and two friends were involved in a fight with four others, who drove off in a car.

The Republic's honorary consul in Gran Canaria has travelled to Lanzarote to assist the teenager's family.
