13 September 2006, MADRID — Spanish inflation fell slightly in August to 3.7 percent year-on-year, authorities said on Wednesday.

MADRID — Spanish inflation fell slightly in August to 3.7 percent year-on-year, authorities said on Wednesday.

Lower food and energy prices were behind the dip from 4 percent in July, said the Spanish National Statistics Institute.

Month on month, consumer prices rose 0.2 percent in August compared with July.
