Huffington Post launching in Spanish with El Pais
The Huffington Post is teaming up with El Pais to launch a Spanish version of the popular news and opinion website.
El Huffington Post will launch in the first quarter of next year, Huffington Post founder Arianna Huffington and El Pais president Juan Luis Cebrian said in a statement Monday.
The site will combine coverage from El Pais and The Huffington Post and "original editorial content through an affiliated network of journalists and bloggers," they said.
The Huffington Post launched British and Canadian versions of the site this year and has announced plans to launch a French site next year.
The Huffington Post, which was launched in 2005, offers a lively mix of news, entertainment, opinion and blogs submitted by academics, entertainment figures, politicians and others.
Bought by Internet company AOL for $315 million in February, The Huffington Post receives around 37 million unique visitors a month, according to tracking firm comScore.
