MURCIA — Hopes were fading that a man who was buried under a mountain of rubbish at a waste treatment plant will be found alive.
The search was continuing for the man who was buried when a 50 metre high mountain of rubbish cascaded down on top of him. The search statrted on Monday since the accident at Abanilla, near Murcia.
The man, who works at the plant, was named as Jose Ramon H.L. He is a 40-year-old father of three who has worked at the plant for many years.
He was working nearby when the accident happened.
A team of 40 firefighters was still trying to clear the refuse in order to save the man
A police source said the search had to be conducted with the "utmost care" in order to stop more rubbish falling on top of rescuers.
