CANCUN — A Spaniard arrested after police found guns and ammunition in her bag as she returned from honeymoon in Mexico was released from jail.
Ana María Ríos Bemposta has been given conditional bail in Cancún after spending a week there.
Airport security had found a detonator used by the army, cartridges and other fire arms in her case as she returned to Spain from Mexico where she had spent her honeymoon.
Ríos Bemposta, 26, left custody after her lawyers paid bail of EUR 1,600 but cannot leave the country.
She has protested her innocence.
Police believe the guns and ammunition were planted in her bag as a distraction by drug gangs.
Bemposta, a hairdresser who lives in Galicia, northwest Spain, has received the support of family and friends in Spain after her ordeal began.
