BENIDORM – Four French youths have been arrested in Spain for allegedly trying to cause traffic accidents in order to film them.

On Tuesday, it was reported that police arrested the youths on Friday in La Nucia in Alicante at around 8am.

They were found on a roundabout on the busy CV-70 which links La Nucia to Benidorm.

Allegedly, they were jumping into the road when cars came, forcing drivers to carry out last-minute manoeuvres in order not to knock them down.

The police arrested them for endangering their own lives, as well as those of drivers and passengers on the road.

One of the youths was found with a camcorder and it is believed that the four were filming the near-crashes with a view to putting the footage on the internet.

Police are continuing to investigate the case.
