BILBAO — Four people were injured in an explosion at a steel works in the Basque Country on Thursday.
The blast happened at the Aceria Compacta de Bizkaia (ACB) in Sestao, according to the Basque Country regional government.
Witnesses said the explosion happened at about 7.20am, but did not cause any major fire.
ACB, whose major partner is Arcelor, is a modern steel works, with an electric fire, which makes laminated coil.
Five hundred people work at the steel works.
An investigation was underway to try to discover what caused the blast.
There was no terrorist link, authorities said.
