MADRID – Spain will see its hottest weekend so far this year, forecasts the National Meteorological Institute.
So far, this summer thermometers have not recorded temperatures beyond 40 degrees which are often usual in many parts of Spain this time of year.
This weekend, in some regions like Andalusia, Extremadura and Castilla-La Mancha the temperature could reach 41 or 42 degrees.
The weather institute warned, though, that there was also a 60-70 percent likelihood of a cold front arriving on Monday in the north-east of Spain which could cool temperatures and bring showers.
