MALAGA — Five former Yugoslav soldiers were being questioned over the shooting of a Briton in Spain.
Armed police arrested four men and a woman during a raid at a flat in Torremolinos on the Costa del Sol.
The gang, mostly in their 20s, are said to be behind break-ins in the area and may be responsible for shooting Brian Cowan, 61, last week.
The retired businessman is recovering after being attacked at his home near Malaga.
A police spokesman claimed: “We’ve evidence linking them to 14 break-ins — but they may be behind more crimes.”
