SANTIAGO DE COMPOSTELA — A total of 15 forest fires break out across the northwestern Spanish region of Galicia.

Nine of the forest blazes have been brought under control, officials said.

After several days of calm, dozens of blazes were being reported across the region.

More than 30,000 hectares (74,074 acres) of land have been scorched by fires this month alone.

The most affected province in the region has been Orense, where six fires are still raging out of control. EFE
