MARBELLA-The former mayor of Marbella has been jailed for six months and banned from working for eight for illegally completing a development called
Banana Beach.

Handing down sentence, the judge in Malaga decried the invalidity of the right to carry out the work which was granted to Munoz´s company Turismo y Recreo Andaluz SA.

The judge condemned the ex-mayor and another six advisers of a company run by the late Jesús Gil y Gil for crimes against the urban code.

Jesus Gil y Gil was absolved because he is dead and can´t be made responsible any more.

In 2003, Munoz was condemned by the Audiencia Provincial of Malaga to a two-year ban because he refused to give to the opposition a file of the tribunal de cuenta, a lower court.
