HUELVA — Two people have disappeared after their car careered off the road in heavy rain.
Emergency services were hunting for the couple after the incident at a road crossing in Huelva, in Andalucia.
The car was dragged off the road at a crossing between the towns Aracena and Campofrio.
Search parties have hampered in their hunt by the heavy rains which have lashed the area and many parts of Spain over the past 72 hours.
Weather forecasters urged people to avoid using the roads in parts of Huelva unless it was for essential journeys.
Meanwhile, in Madrid huge traffic jams were caused by flooding due to the heavy rains.
On Sunday, a 25-year-old man was killed when a great downpour of water hit a village in Pontevedra in northwest Spain, knocking him off his motorbike.
A 74-year-old woman was also seriously injured.
